Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance
Please join us for a meeting addressing the importance of ending the suffering of animals. We hope to move Chicago towards a No-Kill community.
Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to ending animal kill shelters and preventing animal abuse and euthanasia. Our goal is to build a network of foster and permanent homes as an alternative to putting down animals or keeping them confined to a cage for the rest of their lives.
We are hosting a meeting on April 3rd in order to:
1. Formally introduce ourselves to fellow animal lovers
2. Work together to find solutions for:
a. A no-more-homeless, suffering and no-more-kill Chicago
b. Setting up a cohesive Foster system that all rescue groups can utilize
c. Address the target euthanasia of pit bulls
d. Lack of funding for small rescue programs
3. Create awareness of our organization in order to educate the public and prevent animals from ending up in kill shelters
4. Combine our numbers and efforts to build towards big changes
We need your help. Please join us on Sunday, April 3rd for an evening of information, insights, action and delicious food and wine. We love having animals around too, but the gallery space is a little too limited for furry friends. Please see the attached invitation for event time and details. Kindly RSVP by March 30th, 2011. We look forward to seeing you in April!
Iggy is a middle-aged male Shih Tzu with a pretty darn big heart. He’s a sweet, calm dog. He was unkempt and a bit disheveled when he was brought to us after being saved, but with a clipping and bath he’s pretty cute. He has all his shots including rabies, parvo and bordetella. He’s also neutered and ready for a nice lap and some consistent affection! Call Gloria to come see this little guy! 773-907-0305.
Daryl has been with us for a year now. It’s not that we mind having him around, but he should have a shot at a normal life beyond the Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance digs.
We’ve had loads of calls for him, but haven’t found the right fit. The perfect situation for this dog would include a man or woman with much enthusiasm for the outdoors. Daryl could be the perfect companion work dog, nose out the window of a pick-up truck or curled up at the office. A retiree with a love of life would do well too.
Daryl is intelligent, sweet and loves to play. A better “man’s best friend” can not be found!
Please call Gloria at 773-907-0305 for an appointment to see this great animal…
Charlie, a 2-year-old Peekapoo was brought in from Animal Care & Control. The matting of his fur was so overwhelming that no one could venture to guess exactly what kind of dog was underneath at first.
Starvation and dehydration left this animal weighing a mere 6 pounds.
Charlie all cleaned up. With the potential of new “grooming taxes” across the city, people will be even less inclined to pay for basic upkeep of their animals. More cases like Charlie will sadly happen.
Lucky is one of the sweetest, most cuddly dogs we’ve run across at Famous Fido Dog Rescue & Adoption Alliance. He gets along with other dogs, kids and loves people in general. Call to meet this little guy… 773-907-0305
Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance is raising funds to get their “Rescue Cookies” off the ground and into stores nationwide! 100% of the profits go back to the Alliance to provide food, treats, blankets, medical treatment and ultimately homes for animals in need! Please help us achieve our goal!

“Cookie” 1.5 year-old Female Bulldog, Boxer mix
Cookie was found crated in the basement of a drug den. Despite these horrible conditions, her temperament is sweet. She’s loving and she loves running around and exercising.
Cookie is spayed and has had all her shots.
Zach the Schauzer is now “Marvin” and is fitting in nicely with his new family- including several other dogs as playmates. Here’s what his new owner had to say about her new arrival:
“He is just too cute. I love his personality…spunky and curious and playful, yet can be so calm when he is sitting with you or when he is being petted. He just makes me smile. Ryan and Randi have been having lots of fun with him, too!
